A white 2018 Ford F-450 pickup bed was found damaged near the Eureka car dealership it had been stolen from. The theft occurred Jan. 18 at Midwest Motors, 1400 S. Outer Road, Eureka Police reported.
The bed, which was worth $3,400, had damage to its front left side and had scratches. It will cost about $2,000 to repair the damage, police reported.
The bed was found upside down in the gravel parking lot of Lighthouse Storage, 1500 S. Outer Road, the report said.
Surveillance video showed a white Ford pickup at about 3 a.m. Jan. 18 drive toward a storage area behind Midwest Motors, where the pickup bed was kept on a metal frame. A man was seen exit the driver-side door, and at one point, the bed was on the back of the pickup, according to the report.
At some point, the bed fell off the pickup, and the Ford was seen in the video leaving the area on Williams Road. As of Jan. 30, the man in the video had not been identified and no arrests had been made, Capt. David Wilson said.
