Pevely Police arrested a 41-year-old Herculaneum man for possession of a controlled substance believed to be heroin. The arrest occurred at about 5:33 p.m. Nov. 29, after an officer pulled over the man at Weier Road and Hwy. Z for allegedly driving erratically, the report said.
The man was driving a 2007 GMC, according to the report.
“While speaking with the driver, (the officer) observed a handgun and a stun gun located near the driver,” the report said.
The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, and while the officer was searching the SUV, found the substance believed to be heroin, according to the report.
The gun was later determined to be a realistic replica of a handgun that shot BBs, the report said.
The man was booked and then released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from drug analysis, Pevely Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
