Pevely man allegedly found with meth

Anthony Jennings

Anthony Michael Jennings, 40, of Pevely was recently arrested for a felony drug charge and three misdemeanor charges following a traffic stop last year. Jennings was stopped for driving a vehicle without a license plate, according to court documents.

Jennings was arrested on Jan. 8. As of Jan. 9, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.

Jennings was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison; failure to register a motor vehicle, a class B misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a find of up to $1,000; and driving with a revoked license and driving without insurance, both class D misdemeanors that are each punishable by a fine of up to $500, court documents show.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Jennings was stopped in June 2024 near the intersection of Weier Road and Lynnwood Drive. A Pevely Police officer learned Jennings’ license was suspended and arrested him.

The officer allegedly found a bag in Jennings’ pocket that contained a crystal-like substance. The Missouri State Highway Patrol tested the substance, and in December 2024, the patrol identified the substance as methamphetamine, the report said.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed charges against Jennings in March 2025, court records show.
