This photo of Maui captures the 3-year-old pitbull covered up, which is not unusual for her, said owner Jennifer Aper of High Ridge.
“I took the picture over the summer,” Aper said. “She sleeps under the blanket and somebody was walking out the door. She just rose up to have a look.”
Maui is a sweet dog, she said.
“She’s really personable,” she said. “She’s a girly girl. My daughter puts makeup on her. She’ll let my daughter do it. She’s very friendly and very lovey.”
Maui enjoys playing with her toys.
“She loves playing with her squeaky toys,” Aper said.
She said the name Maui has nothing to do with the Hawaiian islands.
“We were going to call her Molly,” she said. “But, we though Maui sounds better.”
