A 40-year-old Pacific woman was arrested in Eureka for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she allegedly registered twice the legal limit for blood-alcohol content. She was arrested following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Six Flags Road and Hwy. 66, Eureka Police reported.

The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. April 2, when the woman allegedly drove a 2019 Buick Encore into the opposite lane of traffic and ran into the side of a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by a 35-year-old Villa Ridge man. No injuries were reported for either driver, but both vehicles were heavily damaged, the report said.

When officers responded to the accident, one officer asked the woman if she had been drinking. She allegedly said no but appeared to be intoxicated, the report said.

The woman agreed to a breathalyzer test, which indicted she had been drinking. She then allegedly told the officer she had three drinks between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. while attending a baby shower in Maryland Heights, according to the report.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she allegedly registered a .173 percent blood-alcohol content. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit. She was released to a sober driver with a citation to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI, Lt. Michael Werges said.
