Nine guns were stolen from a home in 2000 block of Catlin Drive in Barnhart. Altogether, the guns were valued at $5,300, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The homeowner told investigators he had lost a garage door opener, and someone who checked on his home found a back door open. However, an interior garage door, which is usually left unlocked, was locked, the report said.
The guns were stolen between Dec. 10 and Dec. 12. They included a M1 Garand 30-06, Mosin Nagant 7.62x54, Arisaka Type 99 7.62x25, Ruger 10/22, 20-gauge shotgun, 12-gauge shotgun, Zastavia Arms M57A 7.62x25, Colt 1911 .45 ACP and Glock handgun.
As of Dec. 20, none of the guns had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the guns to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
