A 70-year-old High Ridge woman’s purse reportedly was stolen from her car while it was parked in Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road. Then, credit cards from the purse allegedly were used at the Walmart Supercenter, 2201 Michigan Ave., to purchase $2,956 worth of items, Arnold Police reported.

The theft happened between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. March 20 when someone apparently broke the front driver-side window of the victim’s 2005 Toyota Camry and stole her purse from it. The damage to the car was estimated at $200, and the purse was valued at $40, the report said.

Later that day, two of the victim’s credit cards allegedly were used at the Walmart to makes purchases of $1,445 and $1,511, according to the report.

As of March 26, the purse had not been recovered and there were no suspects, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to contact Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
