Festus Police are investigating the theft of a motorcycle from outside a home in the 100 block of East Beffa Street. The 1976 Harley-Davidson was recovered the same day after it crashed off I-55 in Imperial, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.

The motorcycle was stolen at about 9:15 a.m. April 23. The owner, a 35-year-old Festus man, said he had parked it in front of his home the night before and discovered it missing in the morning, the report said.

Lewis said later that day, the motorcycle was extensively damaged when it was crashed near the 187 mile marker on I-55 in Imperial. He did not have an estimate for the damage, though.

As of Monday (April 26), no suspects had been identified, Lewis said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call 636-937-5184.
