Arnold Police are investigating the reported theft of a motorcycle from a home in the 1800 block of Maple Drive. The 1974 Harley-Davidson Softail was valued at about $1,000, police reported.
A 56-year-old Arnold man said he kept the motorcycle behind the home. He also said he had the keys to the motorcycle, the report said.
The man said he had last seen the bike at about 8 p.m. June 2 and discovered it missing at about 4 p.m. June 3. He also said he had been trying to sell the bike and had been in contact with a man interested in buying it, but the man did not show up at the scheduled time to buy it, according to the report.
Arnold Police contacted the prospective buyer, who said he didn’t know what the alleged victim was talking about, adding that the two hadn’t talked about the motorcycle since March, the report said.
As of June 8, the motorcycle had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
