The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft from Waste Management’s hauling and transfer station, 3902 Athena School Road, in the De Soto area. A trailer and a dozen tires, altogether valued at $7,670, were stolen, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Someone entered the property through an open gate at 11:50 p.m. March 10 and stole a utility trailer, eight Bridgestone tires on steel wheels and four Bridgestone tires on aluminum wheels. The trailer has metal mesh around it and white tires, the report said.
As of March 27, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
