Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are searching for two men who reportedly could be seen on surveillance footage stealing various items from Earthbound Recycling, 25 Truitt Drive. The men allegedly broke through a gate to enter the business’s lot and stole about $630 worth of items, police reported.

Officers were called to the business at about 1 p.m. April 1. The surveillance footage allegedly showed the men enter the business at about 5:30 p.m. March 30, the report said.

One man reportedly was wearing coveralls and a hooded sweatshirt and had a bandanna covering his face. The other man was wearing a gray hat, a dark jacket, dark pants and also had a bandanna covering his face, according to the report.

The men also reportedly were seen in a white four-door Chrysler sedan at the business. They allegedly stole a starter and multiple wires from a Bobcat parked on the lot, damaging the Bobcat’s ignition. The stolen items and damage to the Bobcat were estimated at about $500, the report said.

The men also allegedly stole $50 worth of tools from a shed, a $50 radio and a $30 cord from the business. They also allegedly stole boxes of items that had been donated. The boxes were on a loading dock at the business, and the contents had not been inventoried, so it is not known what items were inside the boxes, according to a report.

As of April 8, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and the men had not been identified, Capt. David Wilson said. Anyone with information about the incident theft should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
