Johnny Ray Mordis, 46, of De Soto, a prior offender, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison following felony charges and a probation violation, court records indicate.

In March 2012, Mordis was found at a home in the 4100 block of Walker Hill in De Soto with methamphetamine and numerous items used to make meth. In addition, a child younger than 18 years old was at the home during that time, the probable-cause statement said.

He pleaded guilty to one count of manufacturing meth and one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, both felonies, and in August 2013, he was sentenced to a 10-year term for the drug charge and a seven-year term for the other charge. However, the sentences were suspended, and he got five years’ probation, the report said.

Mordis violated the probation, though, and on Oct. 13, 2016, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll executed the sentences. They are to be served concurrently, or at the same time, according to the report.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Steven W. Jerrell handled the case.

The 10-year term also is to be served concurrent with a 12-year term Mordis was sentenced to on Nov. 8, 2016, in St. Louis for possession of a controlled substance stemming from a November 2015 incident in St. Louis, court papers show.

Mordis previously served time in prison for felony forgery.

He currently is in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
