Bryce Mers, 18, of the Jefferson County portion of Fenton is among four people charged in a triple shooting at a south St. Louis County apartment complex that left two teenagers dead. Mers allegedly arranged to sell marijuana cartridges to another suspect in the case, but the deal ended with Mers shot and the two other teens he was with shot and killed, according to the probable-cause statement in the case.
The St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Mers on Feb. 21 with two counts of second-degree murder, each one a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison; first-degree attempted robbery, a class B felony that carries a penalty of five to 15 years in prison, and three counts of armed criminal action, each one an unclassified felony punishable by three to 15 years in prison.
Mers was arrested on March 28 and released on a $500,000 bond on April 5, court records show.
On April 4, a warrant issued for Trevor Daley, 20, of St. Louis was unsealed, and St. Louis County Police asked for help finding Daley, who is suspected of shooting Mers and shooting and killing Collin Courtwright, 15, and Tyree Williams, 16, on Feb. 5 at the Black Forest Apartments in the 5600 block of Chalet Hill Drive in St. Louis County.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Prosecutors had issued the sealed warrant for his arrest on Feb. 14, which often is done to protect the integrity of an investigation.
Daley has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, each one a class A felony, first-degree attempted robbery, a class B felony, and three counts of armed criminal action, each one an unclassified felony, according to court documents. As of Monday, Daley had not been arrested, authorities reported.
St. Louis County Police ask those with information about Daley’s location to call 636-259-8210. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477.
Tyler Coleman, 19, and Zachary Hough, 18, both of St. Louis, were charged on Feb. 6 in the case. Each one faces two counts of second-degree murder, a class A felony, delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana, a class C felony, and two counts of armed criminal action, court records show.
According to the probable-cause statement, Mers contacted Hough on Feb. 5 through Snapchat to arrange a deal to sell marijuana cartridges. Mers allegedly told multiple people he planned to rob Hough during the exchange.
Mers, Courtwright and Williams went to the apartment complex together, and Courtright got into a car with Hough, Coleman and Daley. During the exchange, Courtright allegedly pointed a gun at Hough and announced a robbery, the report said.
Daley then allegedly shot and killed Courtwright and Williams. Mers also was shot, according to the report.
