Arnold Police are investigating a theft from a Merix Expedited Service tractor-trailer while it was parked at a storage lot off Haag Road. The window on the driver’s side door was shattered and the door frame was bent during the incident, police reported.
A 33-year-old St. Louis man said he parked the 2016 Freightliner at about 2 p.m. March 24 at the lot in the 2800 block of Haag Road. He returned to the tractor-trailer at about 10:30 a.m. March 25 and saw the damaged door, the report said.
A GPS system, laptop, Apple iPad and headset were stolen from the tractor-trailer. Arnold Police did not provide estimates for the damage or the value of the stolen items, although the Police Department did were worth more than $750, making the theft a felony.
As of April 4, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
