The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking felony charges against a 34-year-old man and 37-year-old woman, both of St. Louis County, after the two were allegedly seen on surveillance video stealing tires from an SUV parked outside of a Fenton-area home. The wheels were recovered at the woman’s home, authorities reported.

Deputies were called on April 16 to a home in the 600 block of Green Jade Drive by a woman who reported the wheels on the driver’s side of her 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe had been stolen. She said she parked the SUV under a covered parking area the previous night, the report said.

The estimated value of the wheels was $2,400, according to the report.

A white Ford Explorer was seen on surveillance video at about 3 a.m. April 16 driving slowly toward the Tahoe. A man was seen in the video loosening lug nuts and raising the Tahoe with a jack, the report said.

A woman then helped the man roll the wheels from the Tahoe to the Explorer, which they then got into and drove away, according to the report.

A deputy learned the Explorer was registered to an address in St. Louis County by using Flock license-plate reading cameras. The St. Louis County Police went to the home the SUV was registered to, and they found the stolen wheels, the report said.

A Sheriff’s Office detective was able to confirm the Explorer was registered to the woman and identify the man through surveillance video and the Flock camera, according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Office seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony stealing, Capt. Matt Moore said.
