A man was treated for minor burns following an attic fire at a home in the 1800 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road in Arnold. The man was treated at the scene and was not transported to a hospital, the Rock Community Fire Protection District reported.
Rock Fire was called at 1:02 p.m. May 3 about the fire. The first firetruck arrived at 1:07 p.m., and firefighters saw smoke coming from the attic, the report said.
Firefighters entered the home to make sure no one was inside, and then extinguished the fire from inside the home. The fire was under control at 1:24 p.m., according to the report.
Two men were at the house when firefighters arrived, and no one else was at the home. Only one of the men required treatment, the report said.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Tuesday, May 7. The fire did not appear to be suspicious, spokeswoman Alyson Rotter said.
The Mehlville and Saline Valley fire protection districts assisted on the call, and Rock Township Ambulance responded to the home.
