A 64-year-old Fenton man was taken into custody for allegedly driving a 1937 Ford Ranch pickup that was reported stolen in De Soto. The pickup was returned to its owners following the traffic stop, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
A deputy on May 23 saw the pickup on High Ridge Boulevard in High Ridge. He stopped the man on Hwy. PP due to knowing that the Ford being reported stolen on April 23 from the 13300 block of Hwy. 21 in De Soto, the report said.
The man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where he was booked and released pending the application for a warrant, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
