A Festus man was arrested in connection with a burglary at Kennedy’s Catchall and Auction House, 32 E. Main St., in Festus. Memorabilia worth thousands of dollars was stolen during the burglary, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
He said surveillance cameras captured images of the burglary, which occurred early Feb. 7 when the suspect allegedly broke into the house and stole the items.
“We got a call around 8:45 a.m. that someone threw rocks through a window and broke in,” Lewis said. “He went inside took a bunch of Pokemon cards and other collectibles.
“We looked at surveillance, pursued leads and arrested a suspect, a man from Festus,” Lewis said. “Surveillance shows it happening around 1 a.m. He was arrested at a Festus residence about 8:20 p.m. the next day (Feb. 8).”
Lewis would not release any other information about the suspect, who was booked and then released pending application for warrants.
“We will apply for charges of burglary, stealing, destruction of property,” Lewis said.
