A 47-year-old Ste. Genevieve man was arrested in Farmington, the day after he allegedly fled from Arnold Police following an accident in the parking lot outside of the A&W restaurant, 3998 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, authorities reported.

Arnold Police were alerted to the accident at about 1 p.m. June 2 by someone who saw the man hit a car in the restaurant’s parking lot. The man was driving a 2020 Dodge Durango when he allegedly hit a 2013 Mazda 3, which belongs to a 39-year-old Imperial woman, the report said.

No injuries were reported, and the car had minor damage, according to Arnold Police.

The police saw the man in the Durango on the parking lot and attempted to stop him by turning on the police cruiser’s lights and sirens. However, the man allegedly drove around the cruiser and fled north on Telegraph Road into south St. Louis County, the report said.

Farmington Police arrested the man on June 3, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated fleeing a stop or detention, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
