More than $2,000 worth of damage was done to a log skidder that is owned by Stockman Logging of Fredericktown, Eureka Police reported.

The damage was discovered at about 6:45 a.m. July 6 at a worksite on Allen Road. The damage is believed to have been done during the July 4 weekend, the report said.

The company’s owner, a 65-year-old Fredericktown man, told police he found a panel removed from the skidder and the wires had been tampered with. He also said two tree wedges were stolen, according to the report.

As of July 16, the tree wedges had not been located, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said.
