Eureka Police arrested a 34-year-old Leslie woman who allegedly was found in a QuikTrip gas station bathroom with two bags filled with pills. One of the bags had candy mixed in with the pills, Eureka Police reported.
At about 8:10 p.m. March 10, an officer saw the woman enter the QuikTrip convenience store, 290 E. Fourth St., with another woman and a man. The Leslie woman appeared to struggle to walk and was grunting and making strange hand gestures, the report said.
The officer followed the group into the business and saw the two women enter the bathroom. One of the women came out of the bathroom, and an employee told the officer she believed the other woman was using drugs in the bathroom, according to the report.
A female police officer was called to the gas station to check on the Leslie woman in the bathroom and found her in a stall that had a baby changing station. The woman was barefoot and the contents of her purse were spread out across the changing table. The woman allegedly told the officer she was looking for her cell phone and had placed her belongings on the table, the report said.
The officer reported that a bag was on the table and the bag contained white pills and candy. When the officer asked the woman about the pills, she allegedly told the officer she also had a bag of prescription drugs in her bra and gave the officer that bag, which contained green pills, some which were ground into powder, according to the report.
The officer used a drug-identifying website and believed the green pills were alprazolam, which commonly is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, and the white pills were trazodone, which commonly is used to treat depression, according to the Mayo Clinic website.
The officer asked the woman if she had a prescription bottle for the pills and the name of the doctor who prescribed the pills. The woman allegedly said the bottles may have been at her house and she could not name the doctor who prescribed the medication, the report said.
The officer asked if the woman was barefoot so she could inject the drugs between her toes, and the woman allegedly said, ‘I don’t shoot. I snort,” according to the report.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she allegedly said she had smoked “three fatties of marijuana” that night. The woman was booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. Michael Werges said.
