Eureka Police recently arrested a 39-year-old Kirkwood woman on an outstanding warrant and for alleged possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The woman was arrested during a traffic stop, police reported.
At about 10 p.m. Dec. 15, a police officer spotted the woman driving a white pickup north on Hwy. 109 with expired license plates. The officer stopped the pickup near the I-44 west entrance ramp, the report said.
The officer discovered the woman was wanted on a warrant from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and arrested her. After securing the woman in his cruiser, the woman asked the officer to get her phone and personal belongings from the pickup, according to the report.
The officer got the woman’s phone and a backpack she said belonged to her. However, before giving the woman the backpack, the officer searched it and allegedly found a black box that contained a white crystal-like substance and four pipes with residue on them, Eureka Police reported.
The woman allegedly told the officer she found the box in the pickup and knew what was inside the box before putting it in her backpack, the report said.
The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and held for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Michael Werges said.
