The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a black-and-white 2020 Kawasaki KRX 1000 from property in the 9500 block of Hwy. WW in Dittmer, police reported.
The victim called the Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 8 after he returned to the property to pick up his side-by-side. He said he had driven the KRX to the property earlier in the day, but as the temperature dropped, he called his wife to pick him up because it was too cold to drive the side-by-side home, the report said.
The man said he called his wife to get him at about 3 p.m. He said he returned to the property at about 3:30 p.m., and the side-by-side was gone, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office does not provide estimated values for stolen vehicles.
As of Jan. 13, the side-by-side had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
