About $2,685 in jewelry and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 300 block of Old Sugar Creek in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 15, someone broke into the home and stole a wedding ring featuring two doves and birthstones; a mother’s ring with a black band; a mother’s ring with green, white and pink stones; a diamond ring; a necklace featuring the names “Judith” and “Joseph;” a 1985 senior ring from Bishop DuBourg High School in St. Louis; a blue necklace; a pearl necklace; a mother’s necklace, silver coins and a cedar box with broken hinges, the report said.
The victim’s children and another family member arrived home at 7 p.m. and noticed that the screen from the living room window had been pushed up and change was scattered across the floor. Also, the couch had been moved away from the living room window, according to the report.
Then, the victim came home and discovered that the jewelry was missing, the report said.
No arrests had been made as of July 17, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He urges anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
