A home in the 1000 block of Marble Springs Road in Barnhart was broken into, and $1,200 in jewelry and other items were stolen. Birth certificates and Social Security cards were among the items taken. The burglary was reported shortly before 1 p.m. May 9, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

It looked like someone forced open a garage door at the rear of the home to get inside and then stole items. Among the stolen items were a jewelry box containing assorted jewelry and a cigar box containing various expired or canceled credit cards and store cards, birth certificates and Social Security cards, the report said.

On May 18, Sgt. Matthew Moore said the items had not been recovered and no arrests had been made. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
