Two people were injured Tuesday morning, Aug. 15, in a two-car accident on Hwy. 67 north of Papin Road, north of Valles Mines in Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:42 a.m., Jennifer Kimbell, 39, of Bonne Terre was driving a 2000 Chrysler Concorde and turned left from Papin Road onto northbound Hwy. 67, and David Schutte, 41, of Bismarck, who was driving a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, apparently was inattentive and struck the rear of the Concorde, which overturned into the median cables, the report said.

According to the report, Kimbell was moderately injured, and Schutte sustained minor injuries. Kimbell was transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, and Schutte was transported by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. Both were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The Concorde was totaled, and the Malibu was moderately damaged, the report said.
