Illinois State Police are asking for help to identify persons of interest in a shooting that left a Jefferson County man dead Nov. 23 in Sauget, Ill., authorities reported.

Christopher D. Moses, 34, of unincorporated Fenton was found shot to death in a pickup along northbound Hwy. 3 near the interchange for I-55 and I-64.

At 8:45 a.m., Illinois State Police were dispatched to the area near Hwy. 3 and Eighth Street for a report that a vehicle had ran off the road there, according to a written statement from the police.

State troopers found a Nissan Frontier in the embankment, and Moses was found inside dead from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at 9:55 a.m., Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Michael Lewis said.

It appeared that Moses was shot while he was driving the pickup, the report said.

He was alone when he was shot, according to the report.

Lewis said those identified as persons of interest allegedly could be seen interacting with Moses on surveillance footage from the Pop’s Nightclub, 401 Monsanto Ave., in Sauget.

As of late Monday evening (Nov. 26), Illinois State Police said they had identified two persons of interest, but they were still seeking help to identify three others.

The are white and are described as follows:

■ A dark-haired male with a beard and mustache with a close-crop haircut wearing a Daytona T-shirt.

■ A man with a beard wearing a front-facing baseball hat and an Under Armour T-shirt with a long-sleeved shirt under it.

■ A blonde woman wearing a white long-sleeved shirt

All five left the club in a black Dodge Ram, the report said.
