A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was transported to a hospital with minor injuries after being involved in a three-vehicle accident this morning (July 26) on the West Outer Road south of Old Antonia Road in Imperial, Capt. Gary Higginbotham reported.

The accident occurred at 7:34 a.m. when a southbound 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Donna M. Tandy, 54, of Imperial crossed the center, double-yellow line and struck the Sheriff Office’s car, a 2013 northbound Ford Taurus, forcing it off the right side of the road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Kurt R. Tobias, 26, of Hillsboro, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office for about three months, was driving the Taurus, Higginbotham said.

After hitting the deputy’s car, the Fusion struck a northbound 2014 Toyota Camry head-on. Natalie E. Konieczny, 36, of Imperial was driving the Camry, the patrol reported.

Tandy sustained minor injuries and was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in good condition, a hospital spokesman said this afternoon.

No injuries were reported for Konieczny.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said.

The police vehicle was extensively damaged, and the Fusion and Camry were moderately damaged, according to the report.
