De Soto Police are investigating a burglary at a house in the 1300 block of Court Drive, where items worth an estimated $18,000 were stolen. The home was unoccupied and had belonged to man who had died, police reported.
The burglary occurred sometime between Aug. 7 and Aug. 14. The deceased man’s daughter discovered the home had been burglarized, Capt. Jeff Wynn said.
Wynn said “signs of tampering” were found on doors around the house. Stolen items included a video camera with tripod; two professional studio lights; four televisions; a stereo system with eight large speakers; two pool sticks; four large model ships; one carpet shampooer; two vacuums; miscellaneous tools; a BB rifle and a BB handgun; and a George Foreman grill, the report said.
As of Aug. 17, none of the stolen items had been recovered and no arrests had been made. Anyone with information is urged to contact De Soto Police detectives at 636-586-8891.
