Eureka Police are investigating the theft of $1,200 in military-themed hats and other items from an RV parked outside a business in the 300 block of Cahoon Drive. The theft occurred between about 2-6 p.m. Sept. 2, Eureka Police reported.

A 74-year-old man told police he had locked the RV when he went into his place of business, and when he returned, he found the door to the RV open. Pry marks were found on the door and the vehicle’s outside compartments, the report said.

In addition to the military-themed hats that had airborne combat infantry badges and pins on them, stolen items included a drill, an electric ratchet, extension cords, ropes, solar lights, ratchets and an electric leaf blower, according to the report.

As of Sept. 10, none of the items had been recovered and no suspects had been identified, Capt. David Wilson said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
