The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a dark-colored Kia Telluride after someone apparently got out of the SUV and stole items from an unlocked car parked outside a business in the 2800 block of Seckman Road in Imperial, police reported.

The victim parked a Kia Optima outside the business at about 8 a.m. Jan. 22 and left it running. The victim returned to the car about 10 minutes later and discovered that a wallet, keys and laptop had been stolen from it, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office did not provide an approximate value for the stolen items.

Video surveillance allegedly showed someone get out of the Telluride and enter the Optima. The suspect then got back into the Telluride before it was driven away, according to the report.

As of Jan. 24, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Capt. Matt Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
