A 39-year-old Imperial woman died in a crash on March 7 on Hwy. M at Iron Street near Leadwood in St. Francois County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:48 p.m., the woman was driving an eastbound 2010 Ford Explorer when she failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the road, went airborne and struck a piece of heavy machinery, the report said.
The assistant coroner pronounced the woman dead on the scene at 7:48 p.m., and she was taken by St. Francois County Ambulance to the St. Francois County Morgue, the report said.
According to the report, the woman was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled.
