Arnold Police have issued a summons to a 47-year-old Imperial man for allegedly stealing a battery from a truck that belongs to Aaron’s, a rent-to-own company. The battery was stolen from an Isuzu truck, police reported.
The man, who collects scrap metal, went to Aaron’s, 18 Arnold Mall off Jeffco Boulevard, at about 9:30 a.m. Aug. 9 after employees called him to remove a stove from behind the building, the report said.
When the man got ready to leave, the battery in a Chevrolet Silverado he had driven to the business wouldn’t start, and the business let him use the battery in the Isuzu to recharge his. After charging his battery, the man allegedly took the battery from the Isuzu and drove way, according to the report.
The stolen battery was valued at $200, the report said.
As of Aug. 17, the stolen battery had not been recovered, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
