A 30-year-old Imperial man was arrested in connection with the theft of a pickup in St. Louis. The man allegedly drove the 2003 Ford F250 to the Walmart Supercenter, 2201 Michigan Ave., in Arnold, where he was arrested, Arnold Police reported.
At about 12:20 a.m. May 13, an Arnold Police officer was patrolling the Walmart parking lot and spotted the pickup, which had been spray-painted black and silver and had different license plates on the front and back. While the officer kept an eye on the vehicle, the suspect reportedly came out of the store, got into the vehicle and was arrested, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
The suspect was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek a charge against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering, Ackermann said.
