man in handcuffs

A 23-year-old Imperial man was arrested for allegedly stealing items from vehicles parked along Tenbrook Road and other nearby streets in Arnold. The theft happened overnight April 16-17, Arnold Police reported.

At 4:57 a.m., Arnold Police got a call about a suspicious man going through vehicles in the 700 block of Noll Street, off Tenbrook Road. While officers were investigating, they reportedly found some of the stolen items near a pavilion in the Strawberry Creek Nature Area, also off Tenbrook Road. Officers saw a man nearby running into a wooded area, but he got away, the report said.

Officers also found items in the Sur Vista subdivision, where Noll Street is located, that the suspect had allegedly stolen, according to the report.

At about noon the same day, after Arnold Police had identified the Imperial man as a suspect, officers went to his home and arrested him. He was covered in scratches from running in the woods, Lt. Tom Leassner said.

He said the man was booked and issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court.

Leassner said Arnold Police found more items than have been reported stolen, so there may be more victims who hadn’t called police. Anyone who lives in the area and noticed items missing from their vehicles may call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
