A 27-year-old Imperial man was arrested for allegedly stealing from vehicles in the Mystic Valley Circle subdivision in Imperial. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the man was found with items reported stolen from two vehicles.

Deputies were called on Feb. 17 to the 100 block of Mystic Valley Circle after the man was allegedly seen rummaging through an unlocked vehicle parked on a driveway. The Sheriff’s Office did not report if anything was stolen

A deputy found and arrested the man nearby at the intersection of Old Hwy. 21 and Country Club Drive, the report said.

Investigators believe the man stole credit cards, gift cards and money from unlocked vehicles parked outside of at least two homes in the 3800 block of Mystic Valley Circle, according to the report.

The man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where he was booked and released pending the application for a warrant, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for burglary, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
