Eureka Police arrested a 26-year-old Granite City, Ill., man and a 24-year-old East Alton, Ill., woman for alleged drug possession at Six Flags, 4900 Six Flags Road. A park employee allegedly found a substance believed to be methamphetamine in a backpack that was searched at the park’s entrance, police reported.
The substance was found at about 7:40 p.m. Oct. 6. Along with the apparent meth, syringes also were allegedly found in the backpack, the report said.
The man and woman were arrested and taken to the Police Station. They were then transferred to St. Louis County Jail because they were wanted on a warrant for drug possession in Illinois and by the Florissant Police on two traffic warrants, according to the report.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Michael Werges said.
