A 27-year-old Belleville, Ill., man was arrested for allegedly threatening a 36-year-old Arnold man with a gun. The two men had been in an intimate relationship, Arnold Police reported.
The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at home in the 500 block of Ray Del Drive, where the two men had been arguing. During the argument, the Illinois man allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened the other man, the report said.
The alleged victim told investigators he closed the door when the Illinois man pulled out a .9-milimeter Beretta. The Illinois man did not point the gun at the victim and no shots were fired, according to the report.
Officers contacted the Illinois man by phone, and they met him at the QuikTrip gas station, 1069 Jeffco Blvd., at about 10 p.m. the night of the incident. The man turned over the gun to the officers, and he was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for unlawful use of a weapon and fourth-degree assault, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
