Eureka Police arrested a 45-year-old House Springs woman for alleged possession of a controlled substance after she was stopped for shoplifting at Walmart, 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive. The woman allegedly stole a T-shirt and a Dr. Pepper, police reported.

A Walmart employee stopped the woman from leaving the store at about 2:30 p.m. March 27. When an officer arrived, he learned the woman was wanted by the Des Peres Police on an active warrant, the report said.

The woman was arrested due to the warrant. When the officer searched her purse, he found six pills that contained a white powder, according to the report.

The woman said the pills were Fentanyl, the report said.

She was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and given a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged shoplifting, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek a charge against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Chief Michael Werges said.
