A 40-year-old House Springs man was found dead this morning (Jan. 30) in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. M under the Old Hwy. 21 overpass in the Otto area, said Capt. Gary Higginbotham of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
“It’s being investigated as a possible suicide,” he said.
Higginbotham said it didn’t look like the man was struck by a vehicle.
However, the Sheriff’s Office is waiting for a Medical Examiner’s report to determine the cause of death, Higginbotham said.
He said the man’s identity won’t be released until the report is finished.
A passerby spotted the man and called authorities at about 11:14 a.m., Higginbotham said.
