The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at Hot Spot, 2911 High Ridge Blvd., in High Ridge. Two gambling machines were damaged and a cash box was stolen during the burglary, the report said.

The burglary happened between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22. An employee arrived at the business at 5:30 a.m. and discovered the front glass door shattered, as well as the damage to the gambling machines and the theft, according to the report.

The value of the cash box and any contents was less than the $750 felony amount, and the property damage was more than that amount, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.

As of Aug. 4, the cash box had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, he said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
