BB gun shot at window

Several homes and vehicles were shot with bullets in southern Jefferson County on Saturday and Sunday (July 7-8). Fortunately, no one was struck by any of the bullets, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

■ At about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office got a call about property damage at a home in the 14000 block of Hwy. T in the De Soto area. Investigators learned the victim’s vehicle had been struck by a bullet, the report said.

Then, the Sheriff’s Office received several other calls throughout Saturday and into the early morning hours on Sunday about similar property damage to homes and vehicles from bullets discharged from firearms in the De Soto and Festus areas, according to the report.

■ Vehicles were struck by bullets in the 15000 block of Hwy. T and at a second location in the 14000 block of Hwy. T.

■ Two homes in the 14000 block of Charter Church Road in the De Soto area were struck by a bullet. At one of those homes, the bullet passed through the front door and struck an interior wall, and at the second home, a bullet struck the garage door, passed through the door entered the house and struck an interior wall.

■ A Festus-area home was struck by a bullet in the 12000 block of Hwy. TT, where a bullet struck an exterior window, passed through the window and struck an interior wall, the report said.

It doesn’t look like there is any connection among the victims, according to the report.

Sgt. Matthew Moore said today (July 9) there were no arrests, the report said.
