A 33-year-old man who appears to be homeless reportedly was found inside the addition being built at Fox High School, 751 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A Fox Middle School teacher allegedly found the man inside the addition at about 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, Superintendent Paul Fregeau said in a letter sent to families that day, authorities reported.
The addition is being constructed near the middle school’s entrance on the Arnold campus.
The teacher told school resource officers about seeing the man in the addition, and Arnold Police arrested him, the district said.
“We would like to thank our school resource officers as well as Arnold Police for their quick response and partnership in keeping our students safe,” Fregeau said in the letter. “We would also like to thank the Fox Middle School teacher who was on morning supervision and quickly reported the individual to our school resource officers.
“Safety is of the utmost importance throughout the Fox C-6 School District. If there is ever a situation where our community notices someone or something on campus that does not feel right, we highly encourage you to report it immediately.”
In the letter, Fregeau said the man did not have any interaction with students and was arrested before classes had started on Tuesday.
Classes at Fox High and Middle schools begin at 7 a.m., and classes at Fox Elementary School, which also is housed on the campus, begin classes at 7:40 a.m.
Arnold Police Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said the man was arrested for trespassing and providing false information to officers. He said the man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for charges through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
