crime scene

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a vacant home in the 6600 block of Hwy. PP in High Ridge. The Sheriff’s Office would not provide an estimated value for the items stolen from the home, only saying that it was more than the $750 felony amount.

On Aug. 4, the Sheriff’s Office got a call about the burglary and was told it occurred at some point over the previous four months. It appeared the culprit entered the home through the garage and then stole a water heater, air-conditioning unit and copper wiring from the basement, the report said.

As of Aug. 11, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
