Steven Sunkel, 55, of Hillsboro died from gunshot wounds last night (March 30), the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported.
St. Louis Police got a call just after 11 p.m. about a shooting in the 3600 block of Winnebago Street near South Spring Avenue, which is in the Tower Grove South neighborhood, and found Sunkel sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle “unconscious and not breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds,” the report said.
He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the report.
“The investigation revealed the incident to be drug-related,” St. Louis Police reported.
There were no suspects as of this afternoon (March 31), the report said.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
