A 12-year-old Hillsboro boy was injured Thursday morning, March 24, when he was struck by a car on Chapel Hill Drive east of Old Hwy. 21 north of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 6:40 a.m., the boy was headed south while crossing the road, and Paul R. Fears, 22, of Hillsboro, in an eastbound 2010 Ford Focus, was turning left onto Chapel Hill Drive, and the left side of the car struck the boy, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Fears.

The boy, however, was moderately injured and taken by private conveyance to an urgent care facility in Festus, according to the report.

No information about his condition was available.

Fears was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The car had minor damage, the report said.
