Hillsboro-area man accused of assaulting family member

Ryan Pashia

Ryan Pashia, 35, who lives north of Hillsboro, has been accused of choking and hitting a man who he is related to in their home, according to court documents.

Pashia on Jan. 30 was charged with first-degree felony domestic assault. As of Monday, Feb. 2, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records show.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Pashia was punching holes in bedroom wall when the alleged victim attempted to stop him from causing more damage. Pashia allegedly shoved the man who confronted him, and the man fell down six to eight steps before grabbing a handrail.

Pashia then allegedly started choking the man, who let go of the handrail and fell down more steps. Pashia followed the other man down the steps, and he allegedly started punching the other man, the report said.
