A 50-year-old High Ridge woman allegedly stole a safe containing two guns from a home in the 5700 block of Dogwood Drive in High Ridge, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies interviewed the woman at about 9:30 p.m. June 18 at the Sheriff’s Office North Zone Office in High Ridge. The deputies also recovered the safe that had a semi-automatic Glock and a Smith and Wesson revolver inside it during the interview, the report said.
The safe with the guns were allegedly stolen from the home earlier in the day. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide details about how the safe was stolen or how investigators connected the woman to the theft.
An estimated value for the stolen items also was not provided.
Deputies attempted to return the items to the alleged victim, but they were unable reach the man and seized the items, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
