High Ridge man allegedly found with drugs

Nicholas Allen

Nicholas Andrew Allen, 37, of High Ridge allegedly admitted to having illegal drugs while being arrested on an active warrant after a traffic stop in High Ridge, according to court documents.

Allen has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. However, because Allen has been found guilty of at least two prior felonies, the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has asked the charge to be considered a class C felony, punishable by three to 10 years in prison, court records said.

As of Nov. 20, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents show.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Feb. 22 stopped a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that Allen was driving in the 1800 block of West Drive in High Ridge. The deputy stopped Allen because he was wanted by St. Louis Police on an active warrant.

After being arrested, Allen allegedly said, “I have drugs in my pocket.” The deputy found a substance in Allen’s left jacket pocket, the report said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol on June 16 confirmed the substance was methamphetamine, according to the report.
