The Herculaneum Police are seeking a charge against a 37-year-old Montgomery, Ala., man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing a motor vehicle, Chief Sharia Kyle said.

The man was stopped on April 8 in Arnold while he was allegedly driving a 2025 Chevrolet Trax, which was reported stolen in Herculaneum. Arnold Police officers located the SUV through its OnStar system at the Arnold Park Mall shopping plaza, 11 Arnold Mall off Jeffco Boulevard, police reported.

After the SUV was stopped in the shopping plaza’s parking lot, Herculaneum Police officers responded and arrested the man. He was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending the application for charges, according to the report.

The Arnold Police are not seeking charges against the man, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
